removing soot from painted walls
How do y'all become rid of soot on walls and ceiling? I burn candles in my bathroom frequently and just noticed that the white ceiling has turned gray. I attempted to clean information technology with ordinary bathroom cleaner, which only made the condition appear worse.

I don't know if there is an effective way to clean soot off of paint. Frequently the all-time remedy is to use a primer made for hiding smoke damage then repaint.

A special sponge for removing soot from walls is called a dry sponge. It works similar a behemothic eraser. The sponge is used dry. When attempting to make clean soot of walls with water-based cleaners it's like mixing water and oil and compounds cleaning problems. Use degreaser or TSP (tri-sodium phosphate) to clean walls, prime to seal to forbid bleed through, and paint. Use high quality smokeless candles.

Because of this problem, we practice not permit tenants have any open flames in their units, be information technology candles or cigarettes. We tin can ever tell if they broke that dominion.

I think i know were tweleve is going with this. Sounds like using a microfiber pad/sponge will exercise the play a joke on. If not paint over information technology with a stain blocker..primer. Nearly of the time you volition take to do this to get rid of the smell anyways,.

Hi Shesha - I had the same problem in an apartment I lived in. I used Mr. Clean Magic Erasers which worked like a charm on white semi-gloss paint. If you try information technology, you should do a test expanse to run across if it will accept your paint off first before using it - I used it on white flat paint and information technology took some of the pigment off the wall. Proficient luck!
